'Brave New Waters' - Article In Outdoor Swimmer
The March Outdoor Swimmer ‘Hemispheres’ issue #71 has arrived and it’s packed with semi-aquatic tales from around the world, including my own Sydney-based feature: ‘Brave New Waters’…
‘Ever wondered what it is like to live on the other side of the world?’ This is the opener for a description of exactly what’s inside this latest issue from the folks at Outdoor Swimmer. The magazine opens in the first half with a celebration of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, before drifting southward at the midway point - you actually have to flip the magazine around to read about the upturned world of Australian and South African swimmers.
The Down Under section of the issue includes stories about swimmers sharing Mexican calving lagoons with grey whales on their way to the Arctic, as well as diving into the open waters that crash against the rocky coastline of Cape Town. My article takes place on Bondi Beach and tracks the first 6 months of sea and rock pool swims with seemingly fearless Sydney swimmers (some of them just 9-years-old).
You’ll also find a link to my new book ‘Cold Water’ via the QR Code at the bottom as well (and via the button below). We will share the link to the digital article, published online on the Outdoor Swimmer website, as soon as it is available as well.
