Jack is a Yorkshire-born writer and outdoor swimmer - in fact, both disciplines have been a lifelong fixation. His first book Swim Wild was published in April, 2018. It followed world-first swims with his two brothers - the Wild Swimming Brothers - including a 9-day navigation of Cumbria’s River Eden, from source to sea. Also, crossings of two Arctic maelstroms: the Moskstraumen and Saltstraumen.

More recently, Jack tentatively entered the brutal sport of ice swimming. He swam a kilometre in 4C water with no cap, wetsuit, or neoprene of any kind. While his brother, Calum, did the same, but pushed to a mile. Now, cold water therapy is the subject of Jack’s second book Cold Water – scheduled for release in the UK summer, 2026.

You can find Jack’s articles in The Telegraph, Vogue, Escape Magazine, Swim Magazine and Outdoor Swimmer.

Over the years, Jack has appeared on Sky News, BBC Radio Scotland and given talks and led swims around the world. You may have seen him at the London Outdoor Living Expo, as well as the Love Trails, Wilderness and Obonjan festivals.

Above water, Jack is a freelance marketer, working with iconic brands, like: Speedo, Nike, National Theatre, Red Bull, Shackleton, SwimTrek and ASOS.
